PAULO PINHEIRO REELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF THE PORTUGUESE LEASING, FACTORING AND RENTING ASSOCIATION

The Portuguese Leasing, Factoring and Renting Association (ALF) just elected its Board for the next three years. Paulo Pinheiro (Caixa Leasing e Factoring) was reelected as president of the institution which represents specialized financing in Portugal.

The vice-presidents who accompany him from the previous term are, António Oliveira Martins (Leaseplan Portugal) and Rui Esteves (EUROFACTOR), who were also reelected. Assuming functions as members of the Board are Manuel de Sousa (ALD Automotive) who also transits from the previous board, and Paulo Franco (Novo Banco).

The new Board will give continuity to the work of promoting Leasing, Factoring and Renting, whose products are converting into the most appreciated options by companies, in particular SME's, given its economic, financial, tax and operational advantages. Furthermore, there is a wish to reinforce the input ALF gives in setting Public Policy issues which give answer to the integral needs and challenges of the Portuguese entrepreneurial sector. Another bet of the newly-elected board is on the reinforcement of the Training options made available to the professionals of the sector.

"The importance of our productions is increasingly greater for the real economy. In the last year alone, ALF members were responsible for making investments of 3 billion euros through Financial Leasing, taking credits worth 27 billion euros through Factoring and generating a production of 632 million euros in 32.732 vehicles through Renting. Therefore, in the next three years we shall continue to be totally focused on the sector growth which is already one of the main financing tools of Portuguese companies" stated the reelected president.
